Primary Teaching Assistant – National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP)

Contract: Full-time | Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Colchester to recruit a Teaching Assistant through the National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP).

This role is ideal for individuals looking to start or develop a career in education, gain classroom experience, and work towards a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification while earning.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (dependent on school needs)

• Working alongside the class teacher to support learning activities

• Providing one-to-one or small group support, including for pupils with SEN

• Assisting with behaviour management, routines, and engagement

• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience working with children (school-based or transferable experience welcomed)

• Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing

• Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff

• Willing to complete training as part of the National Teaching Assistant Programme

• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
