Our friendly and inclusive primary school in Colchester is looking for a motivated Future Teacher / Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on classroom experience while supporting pupils’ learning and development across all primary year groups.

You’ll work closely with class teachers, supporting lessons, small groups, and individual pupils — developing your confidence, classroom management skills, and understanding of the primary curriculum.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who are looking to take their first step into education before progressing onto teacher training or a school-based qualification in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of engaging lessons across all subjects and year groups.

• Assist teachers with classroom preparation, resources, and displays.

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who need extra help.

• Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion and participation.

• Supervise classes in the teacher’s absence, following school policies and plans.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school through events, clubs, and activities.
