1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Harlow

Location: Harlow, Essex
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A caring and inclusive primary school in Harlow is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a pupil who requires individualised attention to thrive in school.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work 1:1 with a child who needs tailored academic, emotional, and social support. You’ll play a vital role in helping them access learning and reach their full potential, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support a pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis across the school day

• Assist with learning tasks, social development, and behaviour regulation

• Follow and help implement the pupil’s EHCP targets and support plan

• Communicate regularly with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents

• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech & language needs)

• A kind, patient, and proactive attitude

• Strong communication and teamworking skills

• The ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil

• A relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable)
