Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

About the Role:

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Colchester. You will be working closely with a pupil who requires tailored support to access learning, manage emotions, and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs)

• Implement strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals

• Support the pupil’s learning across all subjects in the classroom

• Foster a positive, nurturing, and safe environment

• Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and meetings

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or care setting)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A calm, patient, and positive approach

• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff

• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning – desirable)
