About the Role
Vision for Education is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Thurrock to recruit a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop socially and emotionally.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, committed, and passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)

Support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation throughout the school day

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies

Encourage independence, inclusion, and positive behaviour

Support with transitions, routines, and classroom activities

Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, nursery, or care setting)

A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
