1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the Role

Vision for Education is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Thurrock to recruit a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop socially and emotionally.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, committed, and passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)

• Support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation throughout the school day

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies

• Encourage independence, inclusion, and positive behaviour

• Support with transitions, routines, and classroom activities

• Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, nursery, or care setting)

• A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Right to work in the UK
