Full time (35 hours per week) Fixed Term 6 month minimum with extension possibilities up to 12 months
Wellington College is one of the most dynamic independent schools in the UK. It is an outward looking place with a global reach through its international schools and partnerships. Closer to home the College has a deep commitment to working in partnership and widening access through its sponsorship of the Wellington Academies in Wiltshire, commitment to providing significant bursaries through the Widening Opportunities at Wellington (WOW) programme, and through a range of other initiatives.
In essence the role of Community Assistant supports the Wellington College community of current students, alumni, parents (present and former), staff (current and former) and other friends and partner organisations. The Assistant will work very closely with the Head of the Wellington Community and report to the Community Manager providing brilliant support for our programme of exciting and innovative opportunities for members of this community to engage with one another whether that be professionally, socially or philanthropically.
A key part of the way we deliver the programme is through events so we really need someone who thrives on developing brilliant, exciting and entertaining events and has that eye for detail, planning and execution that is the hallmark of a great events person.
There is so much that we want to do for all the members of our community and we need someone who is going to make sure we deliver the administration and organisation of this beautifully – as we know the devil is in the detail and we need someone who cares deeply about making sure the details are delivered perfectly.
To achieve this will require imagination, energy, organisation, diplomacy and humour.
