About the role

Vision for Education are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to work in primary and secondary schools in Bristol and Bath that cater to students with Autism, Learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

About the role:

  • The Youth Worker will be supporting young people who require extra support.
  • Building a strong rapport with the student to encourage them to attend and thrive in school
  • Following the guidance of the teacher but knowing the student well enough to deal with any conflicts

  • Working 8:30 - 15:30

  • Working term time only for the full academic year

  • Located in Bristol and Bath, and surroundign areas

  • Caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties and Social, emotional, and mental health needs aged 11-16

  • State of the art facilities creating a comforting environment for pupils and staff.

  • Easily accessible with parking and public transport links.

  • Supportive to staff, running weekly CPD training and team meetings.

About you:

  • A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.

  • Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds

  • A non-judgmental and caring approach
