The School and Role
The school are recruiting for a Young Offender Behaviour Mentor to work with young people aged between 11 and 16 who are receiving their education in a Pupil Referral Unit setting. The school was recent rated 'good' by a recent Ofsted report and the provision is based in the Chesterfield area in a brand-new site. The Young Offender Behaviour Mentor role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support young people to access education. You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, and also with their social and emotional development. You will engage daily with young people who have needs such as SEMH, EBD, ADHD, PDA and MLD. This is an extremely rewarding role for those who want to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.
Requirements
The desired Young Offender Behaviour Mentor will:
- Be resilient
- Be able to demonstrate empathy
- Have a passion to change young people's lives for the better
- Have relevant experience working with young offenders, young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues.
- Have relevant experience working with children or adults who have learning difficulties.
- Must have a driver’s license and access to own car with business insurance.
