Vision for Education are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child in an EYFS classroom with a diagnosis of autism. The pupil is coming into Nursery Sept 2022 and will need additional support.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed autism Teaching Assistant to make a difference to this pupil’s experience of education. The successful autism Teaching Assistant will be required to work one to one with a pupil in the Nursery class with a diagnosis of autism, assisting the pupil in overcoming barriers to learning. The aim of the one-to-one support is to keep the child within the classroom and to avoid high level disruption to other children in the classroom.

The school is seeking an engaging and proactive Autism Teaching Assistant to join their motivated Early Years team. Focusing on the whole child and making sure that each child is the best they can be this school really is striving for outstanding in every area. The school is located near the Chadderton area of Oldham and is part of a large multi academy trust.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant, Autism specialist you will:
  • Have experience working with either with small groups or 1:1 with students who have been diagnosed or presenting with autism.
  • You will have experience of working in an EYFS classroom
  • Must be patient and calm at all times
  • Be able to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Mentor and engage with the students, successfully delivering specifically designed educational packages.

Salary

£10 to £10 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Must have experience of supporting pupils with ASC
