Starting September 2022. Vision for Education are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child with a diagnosis of autism.

About the role

The pupil is in Early Years, Reception and is at risk of being isolated from the class due to high levels of disruption. Working at a school in Gorton, this is a specialist role that will require flexibility and a can-do attitude. Starting in Sept 22, this is full-time role up to the summer term. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed autism Teaching Assistant to make a difference to this pupil’s experience of education. The successful autism Teaching Assistant will be required to work one to one with a pupil in Reception class, with a diagnosis of autism, assisting the pupil in overcoming barriers to learning. The aim of the one-to-one support is to keep the child within the classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant - Autism support specialist you will:
  • Have experience working with either with small groups or 1:1 with students who have been diagnosed or presenting with autism.
  • Have EYFS experience
  • Must be always patient and calm
  • Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Be nurturing and patient.
  • Mentor and engage with the students, successfully delivering specifically designed educational packages.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Must have EYFS exp
  • Must have previous experience of working with ASC
