This role suits a SEMH Teacher who understands that behaviour is communication, and who can remain calm, steady, and reflective even on challenging days. Relationships come first in this school, with staff working closely together to create a safe, structured environment where pupils can rebuild trust and confidence.
The school supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, often alongside additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or experiences of trauma. Small class sizes and strong pastoral support allow teachers the time and space to teach in a meaningful, impactful way.
We’re looking for a SEMH Teacher who:

Is calm, consistent, and emotionally intelligent

Has experience in SEMH, PRU, or trauma-informed settings (or a strong interest in this area)

Understands that behaviour reflects unmet needs

Can set clear boundaries while remaining compassionate

Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Is confident adapting lessons to suit emotional and academic needs

Works closely with TAs, pastoral teams, and therapists

Can manage challenging behaviour safely and professionally
