As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the delivery of lessons, whilst also providing support and guidance to the students in their variety of learning needs. We have also helped many people who have come from support worker and personal care assistants to transfer their experience into a school based setting.

Ideally for this role you will have in date moving and handling training or have recent experience in supporting students with PMLD, as this will be required in some of the classes

• • Have experience supporting children and young adults with PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties) SLD, Global Delay, sensory needs and related behavioural needs
• • Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links

• • In date moving and handling is highly desirable but not essential
• • Experience in using Makaton and PECS is desirable
• • Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial
