Can you demonstrate a clear passion for teaching SEN students?
Are you looking for an exciting, new teaching opportunity?
Do you want to build relationships with a diverse group of young people?
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified SEN teacher to join one of the leading Alternative Education School in Middlesbrough
As a SEN teacher, you must have experience working with SEND or SEMH students in a secondary setting, whether that be mainstream or an alternative provision. It is crucial that you can use your passion for education to foster a love of learning in all students, especially those with ASD and ADHD, and provide our young people with a stimulating environment where they can feel supported to learn and flourish.
If successfully appointed, you would be responsible for teaching a range of subjects to students throughout the school. Due to the diversity of the education that you will provide, we do not require a subject specialism. However, the successful candidate must be able to adapt and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, who have a wide range of abilities.
About the school
This school provides opportunities for children who need a safe space outside of home and who need adults around them who provide both a nurturing, encouraging and supportive environment. This is a small but perfectly formed school having on average 30-55 pupils on roll.
This school takes the time to understand its students' needs, aspirations, and goals, once they have understood each of its students they can provide them with a curriculum that supports their individual needs.
