About the role
Vision for Education are currently recruiting skilled SEN specialist teaching assistants to work within a large school in York.
The School have several positions available and also have requirements for staff to work at the School on a flexible basis.
The Role:
Successful applicants will start September 2023 & October 2023, and will continue for the rest of the academic year.
As an SEN teaching assistant, the role may include the following duties;
- Academic support
- Behaviour mentor
- Assistance with communication
- Run or assist with Nuture groups
- Working inside or outside the classroom with individuals or groups
- Nurturing children's physical, social and emotional welfare
- Keep records and attend review meetings
- Personnel Care
Both full and part time roles are available and require a flexible, resilient and positive attitude.
About the school
They provide a high quality educational experience for all learners with statemented needs or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) from North Yorkshire and beyond.
Requirements
- This role requires the successful candidate to work with SEMH, so experience in this area would be desirable.
- Have a minimum of 1 years experience working within a school or care setting
- Be confident to manage challenging behaviour
- Promote a safe and positive learning environment
- Mentor and engage with the pupils, successfully delivering specifically designed educational packages

Salary
£75 to £85 per day
