Vision for Education are currently looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Tameside supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues.

About the role

  • You will be supporting the teacher within the classroom allowing each student full access to their education
  • You may be required to work with small groups of students under the supervision of the teacher including implementing induvial learning plans
  • You will need to establish trusting and positive relationships with students and provide them with a good role model image
  • We will be looking for those with a resilient, empathetic and patient personality

About the school

  • We work with a variety of supportive and nurturing schools in Tameside that provide education for young people who find mainstream schools unsuitable
  • These schools support young people aged between 11 – 16 and classes do vary in size
  • A broad curriculum is taught including vocational subjects
  • There is a strong focus on helping pupils manage their emotions and behavior to prepare them for learning and the world after education
  • There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period

Salary

£325 to £375 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Have a minimum of 6 weeks relevant experience working with children or young people
