About the role

We are looking for an experienced English teacher to join a specialist school in Rochdale. This school caters for students 7-18 years old, each with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The school has a strong commitment to preparing young people for adulthood and focuses not only on the academic progress of its pupils, but on their independence, social and emotional skills too.

  • The SEMH English Teacher role will involve teaching small classes of Secondary aged pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties, and being able to account for any gaps within their education
  • The role is to teach the English curriculum 4 days per week, with a day of promoting beliefs, values, and employability
  • The ideal teacher will develop a stimulating and challenging environment within the teaching area
  • Responding to the pastoral needs of the pupils in a caring and empathetic manner

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEMH Teacher you will:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status QTS or QTLS.
  • Demonstrate the ability for planning, preparing and delivering appropriate lessons and individual education programmes
  • Be dedicated and supportive, an excellent communicator and passionate about working with students with SEND and SEMH.

Salary

£400 to £640 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
