Vision for Education are seeking a Science Teacher to work long term, in a Secondary SEMH school after Easter. The Job will run until at least summer 2022, but for the right person, could continue long term in September.

About the role

You will be teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students that have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) for their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The role is full time, long term, with the potential of carrying on into the next academic year. Because of the nature of the students, many are working at a lower level than their peers in a mainstream school. For this reason, we do not require a Science specialist, but do need someone that has delivered Science to KS3 and 4, and is comfortable doing so. In each lesson, you will also be supported by a Teaching Assistant that knows the students.

About the school

The school is a dedicated SEMH provision for young people that have struggled in mainstream. They have a very close staff team and senior leadership are very keen to aid, and invest in, the professional development of staff.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Science Teacher - Long Term Role you will:
  • QTS or QTLS
  • Calm and empathetic nature
  • Ability to teach Science to Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Desire to help young people that struggle with their mental and emotional wellbeing
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
