Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of an alternative provision in South Durham for a long term Maths Teacher (KS3 and 4) For the right candidate, this could become a permanent role.
About the role
The successful candidate will be teaching Maths to Key Stage 3 and 4 students that have been excluded from their mainstream school. Staff to student ratios are much higher than in a regular mainstream school, with no more than 8 students in a class, which would also have a TA supporting in lessons. Students can struggle to regulate their own behaviours and emotions, so excellent behaviour management is essential. We are looking to appoint someone with a genuine desire to improve the lives of some of the region's most disaffected young people. If you have a passion for making a difference and working in tough but rewarding environments, this could be the role for you.
About the school
The school caters for young people that have been excluded from mainstream secondary education. It is a fairly small provision and all staff work closely to encourage students to be the best version of themselves.
