Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Newport

Vision for Education in Cardiff are actively recruiting psychology and criminology graduates who have an interest in supporting children in a school environment across the Newport area. The role would involve supporting pupils with a variety of learning difficulties, and the school are looking for an enthusiastic, bubbly and passionate individual to join their team.
The role would involve supporting primary aged pupils with a variety of learning and behavioural difficulties on a 1:1 and small group basis.
We are currently looking for people that can assist pupils that have been diagnosed with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Sensory Processing difficulties and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The role will mainly revolve around getting to know your pupils, developing wellbeing plans, and recognising patterns of behaviour to best engage pupils with their learning objectives.
If you have recently graduated — or are currently completing a degree in Psychology or Criminology — we have several active positions available now and for September that would suit individuals with a strong understanding of behaviour and child psychology.

To work through us, you will need:
- A genuine desire to implement your learning to help pupils overcome barriers to education
- An Enhanced DBS Check (we can assist with this if you do not currently have one)
- Completion of our free safeguarding course
- The Right to Work in the UK
- If you have been out of the country for longer than six months within the last five years, a valid overseas police clearance will be required
