Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Cwmbran
Are you a psychology graduate looking to begin a rewarding career in education? Vision for Education is currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to work across primary and specialist schools in Cwmbran. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates wanting to gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting children with additional learning needs, emotional wellbeing and behavioural development in the classroom.
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including those with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and other learning difficulties. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils to stay engaged in lessons, regulate emotions, develop confidence and build positive relationships within school.
This role is ideal for psychology graduates considering future careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, mental health, speech and language therapy or social work. It offers the opportunity to apply your academic understanding of behaviour, child development and mental health in a practical school-based setting while making a genuine difference every day.
What we’re looking for
To be successful as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you should:
• Hold a degree in Psychology or a related subject
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional learning or behavioural needs
• Demonstrate patience, empathy and strong communication skills
• Be resilient, proactive and adaptable in different school environments
• Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff
• Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting inclusive education
