Vision for Education are seeking a dynamic and engaging teacher to work in an alternative provision in North Somerset, which specialises in the education of students who have been temporarily excluded from their mainstream school.
About the role
As a long-term class teacher you will be required to plan and deliver lessons to national curriculum standards, complete all marking, attend staff meetings and potentially school parents evenings. You will also be required to mentor and guide the teaching assistant/s within the classroom. The average class size is around 6-8 children, 1 teacher and 2-3 teaching assistants.

The school covers KS2 and KS3 with some students being on part time, timetables between their mainstream school and other alternative provisions. Some children have EHCPs for additional needs such as SEMH, ADHD and Autism.

Requirements
- Open to teaching KS2/KS3 aged students who are learning to a KS2 level
- Ideally you will have worked in a similar setting
- Ability to commit to any necessary extra responsibilities such as staff meetings
- Able to positively respond to behaviours that challenge
- Help students to build their confidence and self-esteem
- To help students adjust to their settings, recognise signs of distress and offer support

Salary
£119 to £149 per week
- Full UK QTS primary specialism or experience
