Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a full-time Occupational Studies & PSD Tutor to work in an SEND setting in the Barnsley area.
About the role
As an Occupational Studies & PSD Tutor within an SEND FE setting, you will be based predominantly in Barnsley.
This role in based in an SEN setting and will be 52 week per year.
The personal tutor will be expected to plan and deliver Occupational Studies and PSD Sessions with learners, either on a one to one or group. To offer support to all our young people, including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Plan effectively to ensure pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential, taking account of the needs of pupils who are underachieving or very able and to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and in collaboration with the SEN coordinator, prepare, implement, monitor and review Individual Educational Plans.
About the school
This provision specialises in an innovative 37-week course for disadvantaged young people aged between 16-25 who are or have been going through a difficult time in their lives and have consequently struggled to cope in mainstream education.
Requirements
- • Previous experience of working or volunteering with young people with multiple complex barriers to education aged 16-24 years old.
- • Candidate must enjoy the challenge of working with disadvantaged children.
- • Must be able to drive, hold a full UK driving license and have the necessary business insurance.
- • Minimum GCSE grade C in Maths & English
- • Great youth work skills – Level 2 Youth work qualification
- Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
