Salary: MPS/UPS TLR (Dependent on experience)

About the Role

Vision for Education is seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of English to join a dedicated SEN school in Sevenoaks. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English teacher or subject leader who is ready to take the next step into a leadership position within a highly supportive and inclusive environment.

As Head of English, you will lead a small but committed team of 6 teachers and support staff to deliver an engaging, differentiated English curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

You will inspire both students and staff, fostering a love of language, literature, and communication across all key stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and intervention strategies.
• Support the professional development of team members.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Champion literacy development across the whole school.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Proven experience teaching English, ideally within an SEN or inclusive setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A creative and adaptable approach to meeting individual learning needs.
• Commitment to promoting high expectations and outcomes for all learners.
