Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our successful supply teaching team and to work in local Secondary schools in and around Sheffield
About the role
The role
This is a supply role, so will be ad hoc day to day supply assignments.
The desired Cover Supervisor will be working with students with a wide range of ability levels.
Class sizes can vary depending upon schools and subjects, the required Cover Supervisor would need to be adaptable and knowledgeable of secondary schools and the expectations of a cover supervisor.
The role of a Cover Supervisor within a school is to teach and support learning whilst managing behaviour in the classroom in the absence of the Subject Teacher. The post holder would require the following characteristics; flexible, adaptable, good subject knowledge across the various subjects, excellent verbal and written skills, an enthusiasm for supporting and teaching in a secondary school of ages 11-16, a willingness to contribute to a school environment and the progress of students.

We currently work with a number of schools in and around Sheffield supporting their day to day and short-term cover needs and requirements. They expect a high level of professionalism and a good education from their Cover staff. Experience in this field is not essential, however a strong interest in education is and the willingness to undertake types of training to become an experienced cover supervisor.

Requirements
- • Have experience supporting Secondary Aged Children.
- • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of cover staff.
- • Recent (within 2 years) relevant referenceable experience working with children.
- • Have a passion for education and an interest in taking a teaching or support route.
