About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive school in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a positive and inclusive school environment.

You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them to build confidence, engage with learning, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning across the curriculum

• Work with individuals and small groups, including pupils with additional needs

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management

• Promote positive behaviour and inclusion

• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

About You

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

• A patient, caring, and proactive attitude

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine interest in education and child development

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
