Middlesbrough Schools Football Competition
Special
Educational Needs schools throughout Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, Redcar and
Cleveland recently competed in the second Annual football tournament organised
by Vision for Education. The event took
place at The Southlands Centre in Middlesbrough.
The eight
teams contested in a mini Europa league style competition, with all teams
playing each other and resulting in the top two teams having a final play off
for the Vision cup. The final was
closely contested by Hartlepool PRU and Eston Centre EOTAS, with Hartlepool PRU
eventually coming out as worthy winners. The proud Hartlepool team received a
Nintendo Wii for the unit. Each team involved displayed excellent sportsmanship
and all were given their own individual coloured strip from Vision for
Education to compete in the tournament.
Chris Martin
of Vision for Education said ' Vision is delighted to give something back to
the alternative education provision of Middlesbrough. We work closely with many schools across the
area, inputting into schools is part of our ethos, but the opportunity of
inputting here whilst hopefully increasing pupil esteem and self worth was an
opportunity we were delighted to embrace'
