Full Job Description: Vision for Education currently require a Y5 Primary Teacher to cover a sickness position in a School in Sheffield. The School are looking for the right person to start in February, the school provides a friendly working environment with a supportive management team and colleagues, strong numeracy and literacy skills required. Successful candidates must hold QTS, be enthusiastic and have a passion for teaching. It is vital that you hold a valid, recognised, teaching qualification and have had at least 6 weeks recent experience of teaching in the UK. You must also be eligible to work in the UK as a temporary worker. We must be able to obtain references from schools where you have previously taught.

  • Saint Paul’s Visit to Thai Orphanage January 5th, 2011 Staff and pupils from Saint Paul’s Catholic High School in Wythenshawe were delighted to receive a cheque for £750 from Vision for Education to support them when they go to visit Pattaya Orphanage in Thailand. The trip, which will take place during the Easter holidays, will involve Year 11 pupils (age 15-16) as part of their Citizenship work. In addition to this contribution, the trip will be financed by the pupils’ fundraising activities such as washing cars, sponsored walk, collecting old phones and packing shopping bags in the local supermarkets.
  • The General Teaching Council for England’s Executive Committee met on Wednesday 9 June in emergency session to consider the implications of the Secretary of State’s proposal to seek the abolition of teaching’s independent professional body. Members of the Committee expressed their shock at the decision and their thanks to GTC staff who are continuing to operate services to a high standard of professionalism in a period of great uncertainty. All of the GTC’s statutory duties remain in force pending the passage of legislation.
